The club will not be meeting on July 1 due to the July 4 holiday. President Tamika will be notifying the club membership of the meeting schedule for the remainder of July.
Allen Prescott was recently invited to join our club. He is a former member of the Rotary Club of Houston. Welcome aboard Allen.
During the June 24 virtual meeting, Ken shared the club’s accomplishments for the 2019-2020 Rotary year. Since several members were unable to attend the meeting, these accomplishments are listed below.
• 86% of the club’s membership participated in a fundraiser or a service project.
• Club members volunteered a total of 490 hours for fundraisers and service projects.
• Club membership increased from 37 to 38.
• $9,000 was raised via fundraisers (concession stand, Christmas parade and flags)
• Tier 1 status was achieved due to member’s Rotary Foundation giving of $5,690.
• Conducted two service projects (two were canceled due to the pandemic).
• The club donated $19,400 via district and community grants plus weekly plate proceeds.
In summary, we had a very successful year, especially considering being hindered by the pandemic for almost a third of the year.
Ken thanked the 2019-2020 board of directors for their service during this Rotary year. In addition, he also recognized the following members who contributed to the club’s success this year:

The following received special recognition during the June 24 meeting:
• John Maria was recognized as the club Volunteer of the Year
• Kelly Brian was recognized as a Friend of Rotary due to her volunteer work with the concession stand and the flag program
• Steve Terrell was recognized for his service to our club and to the City of Allen
