We welcome Patrick Earley to our club’s membership. Patrick was inducted into
the club on August 21 and brings our club’s membership up to 38. One of our
club’s goals for the 2019-2020 Rotary year is to increase our membership to 40 so
we’re well on our way to achieving this goal.
As mentioned in last month’s bulletin, our club’s first service project of this Rotary
year was to provide cans of Spaghetti Os and soup for the ACO summer lunch
program. This project was a rousing success with 4,194 canned meals provided to
ACO as well as $800 in cash donations. Membership participation was also
outstanding with food and cash donations from almost two-thirds of our members.
Many thanks to Service Project Committee Chair Randy Sandifer for leading this
effort and Neil Fonville for sharing with our members an easy way to order the
Spaghetti Os online.
Our second American flag holiday of Labor Day/Patriot Day is fast approaching
and volunteers are needed for the distribution and pickup of our flags. The flag
program is our most profitable fundraiser. If you are available to volunteer, please
contact Louise Master.
Speaking of fundraisers, please mark October 18 on your calendars to volunteer for
staffing Allen Stadium Concession Stand B (the most profitable) during the game
against Jesuit. We require 25 volunteers to staff this concession stand so your
participation is greatly needed.
