Concession Stand Fundraiser – We had a great volunteer turnout for our concession stand fundraiser on October 18. Volunteers consisted of 19 club members and four friends or family members. The weather was almost perfect and concession sales were brisk. We should know in the near future how much our club netted. Thanks to all the volunteers who participated in this important event.

Christmas Parade – Preparations are underway for the annual Allen Rotary Christmas Parade which will be held on December 8. Regina Taylor, our club’s parade coordinator, has asked that each club member request at least one business or friend to be a parade sponsor. Our club receives the proceeds from all sponsorships obtained by our club’s members.

Donation Plate Designation – The board of directors has approved contributing the donation plate proceeds for July through December to ShelterBox. Our objective is to raise the funds to donate one ShelterBox at a cost of $1,000. We will keep you posted on our progress toward achieving this goal.

October Social – We had a great social on October 30 at the Lazy Dog restaurant with over 50 Rotarians and friends in attendance from the Noon, Sunrise and Fairview Rotary clubs.  Special thanks to Tamika Washington for making the arrangements.

City Employee Recognition – The board of directors has approved recognizing a City of Allen employee each month, similar to what we do for Allen ISD teachers. Neil Fonville will be making the invitation arrangements. If you know a City of Allen employee who you think deserves special recognition, please contact Neil.

No Meeting on November 27 – We will NOT have a club meeting on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.
